About Hodge Elementary School

Hodge Elementary serves students in grades preschool through six.  We believe all students can succeed with the right support.  Through the teamwork of students, parents and staff, we create a powerful support network to help each student.

It is the belief of our staff that in order for students to prepare for their future they need to work hard each and every day.  All staff has participated in training on reading and explicit direct instruction.  Our school is also a Professional Development School with Azusa Pacific University and the university uses our staff to help train future teachers.  Students are assessed three times per year for growth in reading.  Remedial needs are met through participation in our Learning Lab and Tutoring.  We also have a Dual Immersion Program where students, regardless of primary language, can become bilingual and biliterate.

At Hodge, we believe in educating the whole child. We offer a variety of extra-curricular activities that include our District Champion Track Team, Cheerleading, Recorder Band, Student Council and a fifth grade Helping Hands Club.  Our fourth and fifth graders have an opportunity to go on a trip to the San Juan Capistrano Mission and Outdoor Science Camp, respectively.  A great deal of our success is attributed to our parent volunteers and PTA.  Everyone works together at Hodge for the good of our children.
